Besides this being a wonderful and warm portrait...to me you have seemed to have caught the immense amount of wisdom this woman projects...The kindness in her eyes connects well with her smile...you honored her and she you...juan

Excellent, warm portrait. Good job holding detail. I think a slight crop at the top would tighten the focus.

Love the expression of the gentle subject. However consider the following:

1: It is not sharp

2: Lighting is not balanced with right side of the nose and right forehead burnt out while left side a bit too dark.

3: BG is very distracting. Thanks for sharing. Regards ifti

Thank you all very much for your rewarding comments on this photo; I do appreciate them.

Juan, she wanted me to pass her warm regards to you after reading your sensitive words. I am also pleased to see you here again.

Les, you may be right about the cropping. I will try printing this photo cropped.

Iftikhar, the original is sharp enough to show her eyelashes and I have tried not to oversharpen as that would have made the wrinkles more prominent and might have damaged the mood. I had no control over lighting as this was within a mosque. Still, there is some (recoverable) detail on the bright side of her nose. I have left the background as such as I thought it (Seljuk design) provides a clue to her ancestry. Cropping, as Les have suggested, may also lessen the distraction somewhat, I think...

Very nice...portraits are my favorite and I really like portraits of real people without a lot of post processing. This is wonderful and the available light really adds character and interest. NIcely captured.
