The strength here is the composition. Camera positioning strikes me as near perfect. (Why are boardwalks always so compelling in photographs? Seems they are, though.)

However, the HDR rendering of color and light seem off to me, almost a tone reversal with a too dark sky and a too light foreground. There is no anchoring black point. The orangey tints in the boardwalk itself are bordering on posterization and there is a slight green/yellow color cast that destabilizes the rest of the gamut.

IMO, it is a wonderful photograph. I'm just not a fan of the present post-processing.
