Christal1664882414 0 Posted October 8, 2008 The lighting was difficult here, and I'd like to know your opinions. Thanks! Link to comment
Leonard-just-Leonard 8 Posted October 9, 2008 Hi, this is how things look in this area. If you catch the light at the right time the colours are magnificent. Did you visit Waterton also and get a chance to try some of the hikes I suggested a couple months back? I look forward to seeing more. Link to comment
jtipton 0 Posted October 9, 2008 I like the sillouette and light in this picture. The cloud adds a nice touch. Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted October 9, 2008 This looks great..you could have lighted the shadows a touch more, but it's a personal choice...Well done...Regards Link to comment
ifti 1 Posted October 10, 2008 It was indeed a difficult lighting but you have captured its awesome drama. Love the composition well balanced with foreground vegetation. The central highlight on the water grabs the eye and guides one to the the lofty peaks and shimmering waters. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment

Donna Stavis 0 Posted October 14, 2008 Restful and gorgeous scene. I love the blues and whites and the light dancing on the water. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted October 19, 2008 I love the muted blue mountains in the background. Brilliant clouds. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted October 22, 2008 Christal, very good composition, and control of light & exposure The clouds look on the mountains, and the mountains look on the water.Beautiful! Link to comment
f1_young 0 Posted October 27, 2008 I really like how you controlled the reflection off the water. The ripples are very nicely presented -- crisp. Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted December 29, 2008 Very good light and composition here. The eye moves happily from near to far and then up to the sky. An interesting (and slightly disturbing) feature is an apparent tilting of the horizon to the right. I think that this is solely due to perspective in the distant shoreline, and that nothing can be done about it - and I'm probably the only one who reacted to it! Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 12, 2009 I appreciate all of your comments on this image. Thank you. Roger, I wanted to tell you that I figured someone would comment on the tilted horizon eventually. I agree that it does look like that. But from where we were standing the right bank actually made a large curve around to the furthest point. Therefore, what you're seeing is actually a bank that runs from front to back in the frame at an angle.......thus it won't appear straight. If you'll look at the trees, which are straight, and the far left dark triangle of land jutting out into the water......these were the 2 frames of reference I used for determining if the image was straight. Thanks for your good eye and your comment. Link to comment
