Hi Robie this is judge bait, are you fishing Robie? I've looked at your work you know what's wrong with this. Nice pose.

Hi Danny,

Well...pat on the back, applauds, three cheers...whatever.

The thing that's wrong with the pic' (apart from the fact that you can read the make and model of my equipment in the eye of the model) is that it lacks physical film. I'm not very fond of this raw-pixel-mega-mush and the computer time involved.

But please, unless you simply think the model is overdressed for my general style, give some insight in your critique....I'm just trying out this digital stuff...I'm getting old and...well, older....

Robie

Hi Ribie your right you are getting old me too. The contrast range in Digital is not the same as film there are some that will tell you otherwise. I love film always will. I see you sometimes use direct sunlight as in this shot, you still can but it’s harder to control with digital. If not controlled the whites will burn out.

Photography has not change if you want a better aperture you have to give up shutter speed if you want fine grain you give up ISO rating if you want digital well finish your tests it does have a place, I like the convenience of been able to see your work straight away to check lighting and exposure. Digital has the quality it’s just the contrast range.

I used to be a wedding photographer I see albums today with shots at strange angles with white wedding dresses with no detail I wonder how they get away with it.

There is better software on the market that’s address this problem Photoshop CS3 & HDR but that just means more time on the Computer.
