Lethal Entrance

atle.g

One of the filters..upside down. Long exposure..and brighten it up, and took away a considerable amount of blue.

I like the composition and the man made structures add an element of interest to the image. Makes you wonder what the gate/fence protected against.

Nice composition with gorgeous blue break in the colors of the trees and leaves.

A question: what if you had moved, say, 2 little steps to your left, so as to see the gate in a slightly more frontal or rather 3 quarters view...?

Didnt see any sheep, but i guess the fence and gate are for them....and me :-) Came back here next day..and the gate was solid loocked with some wire...Cant remember if i forgot to close it.

With this unatural stream color, compared to the rest wich is bright and light mooded, i get a feeling that something is very wrong here (Luckily It isnt in reality)...pollution in the water, radioactive sort of thing...But very easy to get "drawn" trough the gate and down to the water.

I did only 1 more wich was vertical...(and destroyed by a raindrop on the lens)

Came back next day..was earlier..and shorter exp time (6 sec F25) Didnt turn like this...but i composed a bit different..but the gate was as i mentioned..locked.. And it became quite different photos.

Thanks for your comments!!

I think I'll still go for your original post's composition, although the second may have been great if the gate could have been "half" open, I suppose. Btw, I guess the original post was post-processed slightly on colors and curves, and the attached file wasn't - is that right ? Then I think your post-processing is truly good : not too much, yet just enough, great dosage. :-) Regards.

The post proccessing and the longer exposure in low light shares the responsiblity i think.. long exposures just before dark often gives strong colors...also a bit unpredictible in the way things turnout....wich makes it very interresting to shoot.

In this case the blue was strong ...i did reduce it quite a lot, reducing blue, also increase the yellow. (using the slider).wich worked here i think

In general the D80 is favoring red colors, at least thats my experience so far.. and with the autumn colors colorbalance adjustments is a must. Have reduced the red on many of the autumn shots.

Must add that my monitor is not calibrated ...

Thanks!
