Those autumn colours are just too beautiful! It's raining for days here now so I can't get out for photographing.

This is a very good photograph! Maybe you should try it one more time with a little bit shorter exposure time, so that the structures of the water are more visible.

Beautiful colours, my only suggestuon would be to lose a little off the bottom of the frame. It's an area that adds little to the overall story. Perhaps just below the right lower rock?

Thank you all!

phillip...have tried similar shots with shorter exposure...but they did not turn out too pleasing...they just lack the softness that this have..could of course be the light...

Have been 4 times in this place the last week or so... I will for shure go back to this area next year and shoot more...but now the fall colors this year is about to end at this particular place.

Jeff.. you have a point..have tried some crops..and found that midway between the right stone and bottom will work best, then there will be enough breathing room.

Ah ok, you have the different exposures to compare and I'm sure you picked out the most beautiful of this series, and dear me, it is beautiful. Wish I'd have a place like this around here...

Absolutely wonderful but a bit bluish-greyish on my monitor, so I just tweaked levels and colors very mildly to give it a bit more "umpphh" ! :-) Great shot ! Cheers.

It has got more "umpphh" :-)... in fact not unlike the look in Nikon's Capture NX2 Raw converter, wich by the way is an excellent tool, but when my shots shows up in IE they loose a lot of saturation...i dont know the reason yet..This particular photo is responsible for the making of "Movement in Time" This was taken the first time (of 4) 26-29 sept. I did a mistake on this and all the other this day. I forgot my camera was on 250 ISO from the night before. Then i had to go back again...and found other motives, but didnt manage to frame this excatly like this again. Thanks for the suggestion.

Okay... Then maybe I can offer my help - IF I can help, that is... In fact the same happened to me before, and the problem is now solved. So let me just ask you 2 questions:

1) What part of the processing work do you do in this Nikon program - and which part in Photoshop ?

2) Which color space are you working with ? And do you sometimes see a color warning asking you whether or not you wish to convert an existing color profile into your work space's color profile ? And if you do, then how do you generally reply to this warning ?

1.

I use NX2 to almost all the PP at the present time. Have an older PS version, but not using it. I use Photo Filtre (mostly for putting frames on for Internet purposes). Perhaps i'l buy Elements #7. My Ps skills are very limited, and NX2 does the thing i need very well... but have not printed yet..i need a new printer...so i guess when i get to that stage i will need PS. Im not doing much in NX2..except using D-lightning, colorbalance, contrast, etc...the normal things....

2.

Colorprofile is Nikon sRGB 4.0.0.3001

Cant remember a warning like that...

Photofiltre show the jpg's the same way IE.

Thanks Marc!

Have an example that shows the D-lighting function:

F20 20sec. 3stop GND. Underexposure to keep the highlight under control.

All there is....one click on D-lightning....and change to HQ settings, using the default parameters.

This particular shot was taken just before dark today. Much faster....and better than any other alternative..in my opinion....but then again..im not an expert in this field...

Well, it's all very interesting, but I know nothing about this D-lighting, and hardly anything about NX2. :-) So if I don't know your color space and such, I can't tell you anything more. This D-lighting thing is an automated function, right ? Or are you choosing parameters yourself with it ?

Colorspace is Nikon Adobe RGB 4.0.0.3000

D-lightning has a default value, but with sliders for shadow and hightlight adjustments as well as color.

It was just to show how easy it is to make thees adjustments compared to other metods like levels...
