dougityb 0 Posted September 25, 2008 Colleen and I produced this homage to Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World. How did we do? Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted September 25, 2008 Everything is in sharp focus and colorful, Doug, maybe too sharp and colorful as an homage, which causes me to look everywhere as opposed to the experience of viewing the painting where one fixed glance will take in everything. Did you take another shot that more resembles the pose in the painting? Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted September 25, 2008 Not really, no. Colleen was unfamiliar with the painting and we were working very fast because we were trespassing, and I couldn't explain exactly how she should pose and I wasn't trying to do a complete knockoff anyway, just using the painting as a spring board. But I see what you're talking about with the direction of her gaze and how that controls the eye's journey. I like this, still, and am quite satisfied with it on many levels. I didn't want to make a photographic version of Christina's World, just an echo of it, or something like that. Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted September 27, 2008 I like the combination of elements...this image has a lot of potential but I'm not crazy about the pose...why would someone be posed like this? Just awkward and stiff. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted September 27, 2008 how about if she just woke up from a nap in the summer grass? Link to comment
