Everyone in the left lane has to turn left, everyone in the right lane has to turn right and everyone who does neither ends up in the trees ... makes perfect sense to me.

Your processing makes me think I am looking at the scene through the eyes of some other species or perhaps an alien.

Not only the title, but both photo and title made me smile, because of the witty way you observe the bizarre and irony of human expressions and actions.....This is a very good examle of observation!

is this on Schizophrenic Drive? Nice, funny, catch. Is this the last time they were together? Or they will meet again? Cheers, Micheal

Thanks to all of you. I've been on the road for the last several days, and am dealing with a family medical emergency of rather grave consequence. Therefore, my involvement with all of you will be of a somewhat limited basis depending on circumstances beyond my control. Thanks to all of you for your comments and please know they are appreciated. Peace

This might appear obvious, but I can't tell you how many Bostonians would make a left from the right lane, flipping the bird and text-messaging while driving with their knees. The sharpness works well here to underscore the eccentricity of the scene.

David, i hope everything turns out okay with your family medical emergency. when my father was dying of cancer, i prayed for the ability to find blessings in the situation. my prayer for you is that, whatever your situation, that you are able to find blessings in it.

Everyone is confused nowadays. Right or wrong? Right or left? And we have to choose, we can not have the best of both worlds. This is a photo that doesn't answer the questions but simply states and documents the state of mankind. Regards.

Which brings me to one of my major hypotheses. The signs are a wast of time. Those who get it will get it without them, and those who do not adhere to the rules will not pay attention. Ergo, what a waste of time money and visual quality.

Yes, these are complicated times. I believe in an effort to not have to face the complicated issues, we focus on the simplistic and idiotic. Well, it keeps us diverted, no?

Wonderful paradox: we must go both ways, and we can only go each way or one way. The sign, that is, tells us what we MUST do, but what we CAN do is quite problematic.

I'm not sure what it means, but I think that we shall have to call it "Meyer's Paradox," right up there with Zeno's paradox and the statement that "All Cretans are liars," stated by a Cretan.

I wonder if there is a category of photography called "photographic paradoxes." Escher would feel at home here, I think, but he would have to do it with cameras.
