Color or B&W? Toned in Ektalure Cream.

Well, no doubt about it; but this is the version for me. Yes, I still love the color version; but this film noir version just has it in spades IMHO! Hey, can you box up some of those clouds and send me a couple of large containers full. Beautiful work, and the applied toning makes it sing! Cheers! Chris

Aren't you the tricky one...No, I think I'll just take a nice big helping of clouds, big puffy clouds; but please do hold the hurricane. Hey, you don't want give all of the good stuff away do you? Florida needs to keep that which makes Florida really unique. This really is a beautiful photograph, Leo; superb depth. Cheers! Chris

A Superb image Leo! Please explain" toning with Ektalure cream". My info tells me it is a Kodak printing paper that is going out of existence?? Sounds like a plug-in..?. Congratulations!. I like the color version very much too. Cheers from Canada! -Michael

You are right Michael, Ektalure Cream was one marvelous warm tone papers which went the way of so many excellent silver halide papers. Kodak just decided to stop making it. But if you would like to tone your B&W images with it, here is the formula: Open a Color Balance adjustment layer with the following settings:

Shadows Levels 2,0,-4

Midtone Levels 2,0,-4

Highlight Levels 5,0,-8

You will have to convert your B&W to RGB. It is an excellent warm tone. enjoy.
