diego bardone 0 Posted September 24, 2008 She looks happily lost in her thoughts, as usual amazing portrait Meir. I love your works cause they have a style, Meir's style...but you know it. Thanks for your kind words. Best regards Diego Link to comment

mtfaidherbe1 0 Posted September 28, 2008 i agree there is a Meir'style, but is not this one unfocused? Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted September 28, 2008 Marie, I have looked at this and thought of the focus. I like the photo a lot but you are correct about the soft focus. Link to comment
John Peri 1,033 Posted January 8, 2010 Browsing through the portfolio, one discovers that it is much more than the sum of it's parts. Apart from the consistency in quality (one cannot but remain in awe at those remarkably saturated blacks), there is a cinematographic element intermingled with a kind of journalistic "hit and run" style, which help create a story line that binds it all together. I often wonder what it is that makes someone's work as "recognizable" as this. I don't think it is a technical consideration, though once again the unquestioned quality is there, so much as the view that a photographer conveys of his surroundings and, more importantly when portraiture is concerned, the reaction that they have to him. Meir doesn't always let his subjects know he's there, but the moments that he captures are akin to sharing something with them which with he can identify and understand. I similarly chose the shot above (again), egoistically, because it is among the few I feel I could have done. The style throughout however remains personal, not imitable, giving his own impassioned view upon the world. In two words, this is a photographer that has something to say and he does it well.
