Would have been nice had there been 6 bugs to draw a connection with the Pleiades emblem. Still haven't figured out why there are just 6 stars for the seven sisters.

That is quite a clever concept Michael. I would have never thought of that. I took this image to be part of the roadtrip story. I wasn't sure if it worked on it's own but it really was fascinating to look at our grill every day and see what other carnage had occured. I might show it to Subaru magazine...we'll see if they share my weird vision.

Just got my answer, Tiffany. Quote from Wikipedia on Pleiades: "The Subaru logo depicts the six stars of the Pleiades cluster that are usually visible from earth with the unaided eye (however it is possible to see many more than six stars under favorable conditions)."

I bet the bulk of the bug splats are on your radiator behind the grill; might consider hosing it off. :-)

Ah! Another reason to love the "Ru". Cool history of the design. Although the symbol should depict more of the stars because the subaru is built to and took us through some very favorable and unfavorable conditions.

They won't have the guts to do that again.....

 

Yeah, I hate to wash mine too. It seems like I'm rinsing fond memories of the trip into the gutter. Wife says wash it anyway...
