jpo3136b 0 Posted September 23, 2008 To improve (I try to leave a few of these for everybody I critique): there's something about the curves in this photo that make it look similar to me; too much like other photos. I feel similarly about the hues. I have never been to Brice Canyon, so I don't know what the local colors look like, but I have spent a good part of my life in deserts, and they seem very rich, almost too rich to my eye. I also felt similarly about the horizon line. There was something about the color choices and the curve of the clouds, top left, as they rise to the corners of the photo that looked "typical" to me. I don't know if it is the result of a very wide angle lens, or curvature in post process. To sustain: the people on the trail. This is one of the few times I have seen people contribute so strongly to scale in a landscape photo. There is something about the moment they were captured, each apparently on the same trail, as it curves around hills, in the bottom left. Really, this is one of, and may be the, strongest detail in the photo. I also liked the touches of white on the rocks in the lower right. Something about angle of view, and the spires of the canyon wall rocks really helps to communicate depth and curving form. Good job. Good viewpoint choice. Good luck. J. Link to comment
