This is a portrait of a craftsman, who was part of a group of artisans making plaster-of-Paris statues of the Hindu god Ganesha, on the streets of Ahmedabad.

I was photographing the statues and their makers on the streets, when an unexpected rainshower forced me to take shelter in a tea shop. I was deluged with requests from people to take their photograph. This man's proud demeanour and his flaming red hair were both very interesting to me.

Thanks, Mujahid. Did you have a chance to compare the BW and color versions of this image? I was wondering which one you prefer.
