I don't know why, but this photo is very endearing and heartwarming. To me, anyway. And it doesn't matter that the lighting is less than ideal, because it's such a charmer. The distant mountans and the slowly falling rain coming perhaps to an end, judging from the break in the clouds, and the curious tree ... and the marble pavement, it all comes together. Nice work.

The relatively uniform and low light, atmosphere of rain, a tree that is barely hanging on, and a single figure under an umbrella that counters the otherwise uniform symmetry all combine to make a very intriguing photo that can carry several different interpretations and messages. It's a photo you can think about. In my mind, that's a great attribute. Congratulations on the POW.
