lonebearimages 0 Posted September 19, 2008 I think the composition is just fine. It looks very balanced. I think the only improvement that perhaps could have been brought to bear would have been to take this early in the a.m. or early evening. Having said that though; this image is incredibly beautiful and very representative of the California coastline. Nicely seen. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
wood 1 Posted September 19, 2008 Thanks for the helpful comment. It is uncommon these days to receive good constructive critiques on PN, so yours is greatly appreciated. I totally agree about the lighting/time of day. An evening shot with warm sunlight illuminating the cliffs would be my preference, but we were on the move and couldn't stick around. This is near Bodega Bay (home of "The Birds"). Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted September 19, 2008 Just a follow-up. I wanted you to know that I have just concluded an extremely enjoyable half-an-hour slowly scrolling through your portfolio. What really struck me is how much we seem to see the world (particularly California) in much the same way (e.g., trees, water/reflections, intimate landscapes, B&W, etc.). I have added you as someone whose work I want to follow on PN. I have to say too, that it is the interaction between excellent photographers, like yourself, that has made such an improvement in my photography over the past three years. I think that Photo.net is one of the finest resources available to any and all of us who love to see the world with a camera and lens in front of their eye. Keep up the fine work, Robert; and I look forward to your future postings here. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
