nhut-nguyen 0 Posted September 14, 2008 I believe this guy is a juvenile osprey, he had about 5-6 six unsuccesfull dives. He didn't seem to be afraid of me at all as he hovered right on top and me and flew within 10 feet of me. Though I didn't get to see him catch anything, it was still a thrilling experience. This was me first time seeing an osprey up close and personal. Thank you for viewing, commeting and ratingl Link to comment

tanni_thai 0 Posted September 15, 2008 Very nice capture Sinh Nhut Nguyen. I believe I saw this guy just earlier today at Bolsa Chica and was able to capture a standing pose only. He took off and parked on a light post shortly right after. He looked pretty hungry though. A very good capture! Link to comment

knobby6 1 Posted September 15, 2008 You really got the perfect frontal view of him coming out of the the water. If he just knew how to fish. I watched him do 4 dives this morning and he came up empty on all 4. None with the nice frontal view though. Nice pp, especially the eye. 7/6 Link to comment
paul_de_ley 21 Posted September 16, 2008 A truly excellent action shot, he looks quite upset at having missed yet again! You get really drawn in by the color and sharpness of the eye in the large-size version. With PN's smaller default display size version, it could be interesting to try out a closer crop along the left and top edge (say about 50% of the current space) to enhance the forward motion and bring out the triangle formed with the darker patch in the reflection.
