Marvelous capture of expression

Very strong portrait, Why do have cropped the left side? I know that you wanted it to be so, but What I mean is, if that was my picture and unfortunately it isn't, I wouldn't cropped it so, and also on the underside, I would also had showed the breast of this strong beautiful fellow, Ok then:-- more space on the left and on the underside.then the power would be fabulous, But You don't need to pay attention to my words, I just say sometimes what I think and I have been in trouble because of this, a couple of times in my life, and I don't have learned to be quiet yet, Let us do so then, if you are happy with this beautiful image as it is now, that is the most important thing , photography is ART and fortunately it available nowadays for almost every one, and is the genuine reflection of freedom, where we can shoot what we want and how we want, and if the others like me now come with such crazy comment, do not pay attention to them, just Be happy and forgive me please.

Thanks for your thoughts. I cropped and framed the image as I did because I wanted this to be a portrait, one that could equally well have been a human or a gorilla. There's obviously great intelligence expressed in his face and that's what I wanted to show.

An exceptionally expressive portrait - although it it not a "Happy Face".

A splendid portrait.  Looking at it I cannot help but feel a genetic kinship with this character.  On a human, the eyes might be called penetrating and the lips sensitive.  The creature looks intelligent.  On his or her turf he or she would have more smarts than I.

I've noticed this one before, but felt I needed to second all those who point out its merits, not as "nature" photography, but as portraiture, pure and simple.

Another of those "wish I had taken that" moments.
