photis santamouris 23 Posted September 14, 2008 The way you composed is very interesting, the angle of view is super and I admire that the image holds great detail everywhere.Reminds me me of arches and doors here,in the islands, which are rare to find, but share the same basic characteristics. Funtak 0 Posted September 14, 2008 I am always glad to hear from you..Micro - city Hum was an interesting opportunity to take a better look at the 17 - 40 mm lens. I am pretty much 24 -105mm user; now I had to admitt that at 40D 24 mm is sometimes simply not wide enough. Link to comment
photis santamouris 23 Posted September 14, 2008 If you had only tilted this image 1-2 degrees to the right everything would be OK.It happens to me as well,as many of my images are submitted without proper titling. Link to comment
Funtak 0 Posted September 14, 2008 Yes, I can see what you mean and it is obvious when you look upper part of the photo ( the door) but I am not sure how that rotation to the right would reflect on lower part of the photo..Maybe I chose the wrong angle at the first place. Anyway, I sincerely respect your remarks, as always. Link to comment

RickDB 10 Posted September 14, 2008 ...I love the way the steps curve over into the arch, leading the eye through to the sun dappled cobbled street below. The muted colors are perfect and the subtle shadow detail and contrast capture the rugged texture beautifully. As for the very slight converging of the verticals (probably because the camera was tilted very slightly upwards) a simple rotation will throw out the other side - but a small perspective adjustment can fix it. However, such an adjustment will require the image to be cropped and you will lose quite a bit from the right hand side, especially as you get to the bottom corner. To keep as much of the picture as possible, I extended the steps with some careful cloning. It takes a little time, but when you have a picture this good, its worth it! Cheers, RickDB Link to comment

jorge_fernandez3 0 Posted August 16, 2009 It is a clear image with great contra and tonalities. The transition from the foreground to the bacground, makes it a bit mysterious. Warm regards. Link to comment
