Matt Laur 2,201 Posted September 13, 2008 From a morning training session: Bob White Quail and German Shorthaired Pointer. Yes, that sweet dog that likes to sit on the couch with and watch TV... is also a serious predator and working dog. Thanks for visiting Link to comment

tonmestrom 4 Posted September 13, 2008 I'm starting to run out on superlatives to tell you how terrific these are so how about a stunning and a nice quote: "Here's what I've learned about dogs: They're a lot like pretty girls. Having one or two around makes everything more fun, but when you get a whole bunch together, it turns into one big power struggle". Scott Westerfeld Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted September 13, 2008 Good shot! It's always amazing to me that with all that energy and a mouth full of teeth, he won't harm a feather (hopefully)... Mike Link to comment
facundo 0 Posted September 15, 2008 I think your photo is great ! And I also think killing birds for fun is NOT ! Link to comment
Matt Laur 2,201 Posted September 15, 2008 Mr. Facundo Jose: I'm sorry that you cannot easily join us for a dinner - which I would gladly fix for you - featuring quail as a second course. We do not waste delicious game bird meat in our household, I assure you. And it's much better for you than chicken! Most birds that come anywhere near a typical training exercise like this can be heard later that night in the woods, calling each other into a covey. Some of them will feed wild foxes or coyotes or hawks - but no quail ever dies of old age, of that you can be certain - nature is very thorough about that. Thank you for appreciating the photograph!
