I like the long, wide crop. But I would also like a closer crop. However,

the fence becomes a graphic problem when cropped closer, to square,

or even 8x10 format vertical. The orange building in the back is a farm

house. Does it bother you?

Doug,

Pretty girl! Nicely sharp. Good separation from background. It's not the orange color of the buidling in the background that bothers me - it's the brightness of it (the white). My eye keeps going there. Please try not to have leading lines go through her head. It might be a good idea to stay away from orange clothes on a person with such a light , delicate skin tone. I like her expression and eye contact. It really makes you wonder what she's thinking. Maybe I don't want to know.

The horizontal framing works for this picture, even if she is not looking a bit to her right - it must be the balance of the objects on her right. Nice reflections in her eyes. Without those she would not come alive. Good job.

Doug:

I would like the fence to end at the building at least to see the difference. I will say this though once I lock in on her it doesn't bother me as much.

This, in comparison with the other one, makes me think: this girl needs sun, and she need to smile, or to laugh. She's good for fun shots. And here she seems a little "empty" in terms of expression. Background was nice - although I'd crop off the far left -, but the main subject is a bit of a let-down here for me. Regards.

Cropping the left side off begins to make the fence unrecognizable, I thought. I didn't really like that the farm house was so blurry, which is why I offered two crops on another shot, so you could see the silo. I think her face would present with more strength if the left were cut off, but am not too sure about the fence lines.

I think her "empty" expression as Marc indicated, is likely accentuated by the darkening of the upper pupils that gives her a peculiar look. Otherwise I think her expression quite suits the casual appearance, although a slight wider smile would have made a big difference, I think.

When I suggested to crop on the far left a little, I should have been more specific: it's just that tiny bit of road that I'd leave out. And I think that would still leave the fence very easy to recognize. My issue with that bit of grey at far left is just that it somehow echoes the color of her eyes, and therefore creates a distraction near the edge where our eye lands due to the color similarity. By the way, I'm now thinking, that coloring the road's tar in green with a little cloning from grass to tar, would in fact be better than cropping. And it would leave our attention unspoilt un her, and then the fence. Regards.

I knew it was tough to be French. :-) I mean: sometimes I express myself very poorly, sorry for that. So, instead of writing, I should have done it. Took only 5 minutes. On my way, I noticed that the face was a little dull and slightly bluish, so I adjusted color, brightness and contrast on the face as well. Cheers.
