soniam 6 Posted September 10, 2008 I don't know why but this photo just makes me smile. I love the capture of the expression and moment. He just looks so smug - pleased that I wanted him in the photo with the landscape. Please let me know what you think. Perhaps it isn't a great photo, it could be the personal attachment that makes me love it. Thanks for your time and thoughts. Link to comment
jtipton 0 Posted September 10, 2008 I can see why you like it. He adds a nice element to the picture and it's a beautiful B/W. Regards-Jim Link to comment

soniam 6 Posted September 12, 2008 Thank you Jim, Joao, Rashed, Mujahid, Keith. I'm glad I am not the only one who can appreciate this. I'm glad the B&W is appealing because I was torn between it and the coloured version. Thank you again Link to comment
corkman 0 Posted September 13, 2008 A tough choice, I could go either way because the result in both cases is the same...exceptional photography. Regards, Bill. Link to comment
johnroberts 0 Posted September 13, 2008 Great photograph, I get the impression he is closing his eyes and drinking the peace and the calm of the wonderful surroundings. Regards, John Link to comment

juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted September 23, 2008 WOW...I prefer BOTH...the color version has a different kind of passion...feeling... The B&W speaks more to the smug feeling...I have always appreciated titles...but if you had titled this bliss...it would have worked as well... Excellent capture...glad to see that you are not one of those afraid to take your camera out in a canoe!!! Juan Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted September 23, 2008 Thank you all so much. I hadn't thought of it as 'drinking in his surroundings'. Great thought though. I appreciate hearing back from all of you. Thank you again Link to comment
podstawek 0 Posted October 2, 2008 Sonia, I just love it. I have been recently looking through many photos at photo.net, and this one is just outstanding. Everything is good about it, the perfectly captured expression, the composition of the complete image, and the choice of black and white (please don't change back to color, as B&W lets the viewer focus on the expression and composition, while in this case colors are distracting). As much as I'd love to, I find no way of improving this image, it is so perfect. I am not an expert, and not a pro photographer; in fact I'm just a beginner... but please know that I'm giving 7/7 to this one, something I rarely do. Please keep on photographing people, I'm already your fan :). Link to comment

www.photo.netphotosseamo 0 Posted October 6, 2008 i'm pretty sure it was mid-blink with a mouthful of trail mix and jerky actualy.... nice photo. i prefer the black and white. was that on izshick? Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted October 6, 2008 You know - I cannot remember but I thought it was Lanezi. I was going to take the photo of the scene behind and you were politely ducking out of the photo. When I told you I wanted you into the photo - this was the expression I cought. You look so pleased. Perhaps it was a mouthful of trail mix as well.... Link to comment

naturalworld 0 Posted April 15, 2010 Excellent mono portrait. Your composition makes sure our eyes go straight to your subject. The tranquil lake compliments his smug look, as if he is laughing at those of us stuck at our desks in the city. Link to comment
