Lady and her ladybug

I was somewhat disappointed in the sharpness here, but I'm going to

have to put a better lense at the bottom of the wish list for now. Still, I

like the subject and overall feel of htis image.

Good point David, and thanks for stopping by. I've already shelled out fot the Gitzo and the ballhead. It's just such a nuisance to lug all that stuff around.

Actually this one is not so bad. It's when I tried to zoom in on the ladybug, that I lost too much sharpness(in a different image.) My only macro lense is an old 55mm manual focus. A new autofocus 105 or 200 would be nice too. Put them on the tripod and the ladybug would look a lot sharper.

It's the singer not the song. Nevertheless, I just bought a fixed lens for the first time with a 1.4 opening. I must admit that it takes better images than my zoom lens. I still don't have a tripod though. My bugs would disappear before I got anywhere near setting it up!

Thank you for stopping by and for writing such a nice note. My images are almost always informal, candid ones. The 8 year old models are usually less patient than are the 18+ models that you photograph. Yours is a special talent for bringing out the personalities of the model and the relationship between model and photographer. I (and I suppose many others) wish I (they) could do the same.

Unfortunately I have slowed down a bit. Seems that work gets in the way of photographyt. When time permits, I will be happy to share more of my photos with the PN forum.

I like the picture the way it is. Girl's face is sharp and that's the key.Tripod is a good idea but I think that in this case increasing the F stop would help with depth of field which seems to be the main problem. Of course with higher F stop you would definitely need a tripod.

Nice colours and lovely expression, the composition works great too.

I see nothing unsharp about that lens. JUst more DOF is all.
