dougityb 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Reposting, after removing a troublesome cable. As a background, is the fence objectionable? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 7, 2008 This is well taken portrait, great light here and I like the skin tone , wishing you all of the best my friend Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted September 7, 2008 That's a lot of work, and well done too. Even the two loops are nicely removed and appropriate shadows replaced. I think it was worth the effort. Link to comment
mlackey 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Alluring, real, great pose. As always the great composition with flawless execution. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted September 7, 2008 I like the model and the fence, but I have this irrational fear that the camera would explode if I started trying to do serious portrait work with beautiful models. --Lannie Link to comment
javedrassi 3 Posted September 7, 2008 What did you repair? background is still distracting. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted September 8, 2008 Javed, I removed the braided cable that bisected the photo into a top and bottom half, and also went through Nora's head. I might try your fuzzy technique, but I actually like the pattern of the fence because it reminds me of fishnet stockings. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted September 8, 2008 Lannie, my worry over the last two decades has been whether or not *I* would explode. I've never worried about the gear. It's funny how you can be focused on such beauty, and not be distracted by it so much for all the concern over making the picture work. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted September 8, 2008 Michael, after all the work, this one and the previous one are rating about the same. Mitch, thanks, and Rashed, As-Salāmu `Alaykum. Thank you very much. That's a mighty big camera in your profile photo. Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted September 8, 2008 The ratings might reflect objections to a generally ordinary background, rather than specifics. Fortunately, for the most part, we do it for ourselves and our subjects, but comments and ratings are certainly useful for consideration next time. I actually like the background for the same reason - fishnet stockings. Link to comment
xian_b. 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Patterns are well represented in all aspects of photography. They do not automatically equate to "busy," and I think it's a poor photographer who avoids them for misunderstanding that rule. You've done a bang-up job removing the cable. I think the whole photo works much better now. Nora must be a gorgeous girl in person, but it says a lot about the photographer who can effectively capture that beauty. Great job all around. dougityb 0 Posted August 20, 2010 hmmm, I kind of missed this picture. I like it. Thanks CG. Right, in many cases, backgrounds are the beginning to every picture. Link to comment
