should have a little bit more contrast and wood would look better. also you could try to make it black and white and leave the peppers colored. that would make impact instantly

I think our lives are filled with too many "Shoulds"....this could have a wee bit more contrast....but I like it just the way it is...the contrast in this image is about the color...the passion of the peppers against a wall that has stood the test of time...I would find it hard to resist eating one or more of these peppers if I was to walk by them...very good composition and interesting....I assume that that is some sort of window covering?

Thank you both for your comments. Andrei, I tend do be impartial to most examples of selective colouring. I see the ones in your portfolio are among the good.

Here, I have tried to achieve the contrast by juxtaposing the wall (almost monochrome) and the pieces of wood (with subdued colors) with the peppers (bright, colourful), as Juan noticed. I also liked the slight bluish cast on two of the wooden pieces which would be lost in a B&W conversion.

Juan, the backround structure is a shed that is to be demolished by the owner soon. The farmer offered me some fresh tomatoes when he noted that I was too interested with his peppers!

Hi Bulent. It's not that I don't like the picture but actually like this very much I wouldn't make a comment of it, but there is a contrast between the peppers and the wood but not between the wood and a wall which i was dreaming of. Anyway, nice idea behind this.

I did make a copy of this in B&W selective and I hope you don't mind that. Maybe if you like it you can make some of the original also.

Congrats and good light

I liked your version very much; it is charming. I guess this photo is a good candidate for selective colouring. Thanks very much again for your interest. I should devote some time to that technique...

I happened to catch this on the random portfolio image generator (that section on the right). It really sttod out for me. Simple patterns and colors from daily life and beautifully organized in a lyrical photo.
