danbliss 0 Posted September 5, 2008 Hmmm, a three right off from the start... I am open to suggestions or comments. I thought the shapes and textures were pleasing. Dan Link to comment
godfather 0 Posted September 5, 2008 Can't find anything disturbing from there so it has to be perfect. The dark processing style looks great on this kind of simple landscape image. Link to comment

antoniodiaz1 0 Posted September 5, 2008 Dificil es conseguir esta belleza con tan pocos elementos. Solo luces y sombras. Link to comment

eugenio_pastor_benjumeda 0 Posted September 6, 2008 I like the white waves into that mysterious atmosphere. It's a very personal image. Best regards. Eugenio. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted September 6, 2008 Wow. Rita, Lester, Ghulam, Anabela, Jef, Doug, Caspar, and Eugenio, thank you all for your kind and generous comments. I appreciate them greatly. This is one of those funny photos in that it doesn't resonate with some of the folks on PN (based on ratings), but clearly a lot on PN really like it. As with most of my photos, I was more interested in the mood than the subject itself. It is interesting to see how it affects the viewer. Anyway, for those of you who liked the photo, I am really glad it worked for you. Thanks again. Dan Link to comment
sjmurray 33,556 Posted September 7, 2008 Maybe the lack of detail in the dark areas puts off some people, but photography is always an "interpretation" of the actual scene. The artist should feel free to present what he or she feels represents the mood that was felt, as you spoke of. This is a lovely image and would make a very nice fine art print for the wall! ash burton-smith 0 Posted September 10, 2008 Beautiful image Dan! Can't believe someone gave you a three! How's that for a joke? Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted September 10, 2008 Steve and Ash, thank you for your comments. Different people like different things, and the world is a better place for that, but I am glad you enjoyed the image. Thanks again. Dan Link to comment
lars_brorson_fich 0 Posted September 20, 2008 This certainly works for me ! Very well done indeed. About the lack of details in the dark areas, that I agree might make some people here on PN rate it down; I think that more details just would have disturbed the very strong clarity of the composition, which in my opinion is just what makes this image so strong.Re.: Lars Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted January 14, 2009 Fantastic job! I really like what you've done with this scene, composition wise is perfect, and though the lack of detail in the first hill might be a concern to some, I don't find it the least disturbing. I any, I believe the amount of contrast, makes it even more powerful. My best wishes to you in this New Year. Cheers, Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted January 14, 2009 Lars and Juan Carlos, thank you for your comments. I was having fun with this one. By using higher contrast, I felt it made the image more graphic. Anyway, thanks. Dan Link to comment
