pnital 36 Posted September 8, 2008 This is very well done IMO,first it is a document that not many can arrive at. It has nearly a symmetry that is " broken" by the form on the carpet which is not in the middle. Has to see large to explore all the details. I like the light of what is important for the monks, the diety. Beautiful art on the wall. Relaxed atmpsoher .Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
michael anderson 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Karl, The yellow robes of the monks give this great symmetry with the light on the buddha in the background. Beautiful work as always. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted September 9, 2008 Pnina expressed all the accolades of the image, and I am amazed that you were able to actually photograph such an intimate looking event without being tossed into a holding cell. I think that you should rotate this image just a bit to the left (1/2 to 1 degree). It is definitely straight at the top but it feels just a little crooked where all the subjects are centered. Karl Schuler 48 Posted September 10, 2008 Thank you all for your comments. From all the monasteries I know in Ulaanbaatar, this one is in my view the most genuine one and the most beautiful. Rarely tourists are seen here. I was fortunate to get the permission to shot photos inside the prayer rooms. I will share the best of them with the monastery administration. Apart from being an inspiring place for photo shooting it is also a place where I can find spiritual recreation.Karl Link to comment
