Monte, I was left speechless for the sharpness and the lack of noise in this beautiful image taken with ISO 1100 : the D3 full frame is really fantastic. what is your experience?

There is something funny and yet graceful about this bird, Monte. Very good capture indeed.

Giangiorgio: As you note, this camera is all about the iso sensitivity. For me it is a trade-off. I lose the crop factor, which hurts me for birds, but gain the better low light shooting. I would choose it again over the D300.

As noted above, the sharpness is impeccable. What really strikes me is how much I like the vignetting on this shot. It really does force you right into the bird. Really done well.
