bosshogg 4 Posted September 3, 2008 I think it's a case of the fields were always cultivated and the business while cultivated, did not make it. Thanks for the visit. I always like to hear from you. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted September 3, 2008 And on and on we go on our little jaunt around rural America. Remember what you see, kids, we pass this way but once. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted September 4, 2008 Thanks. Indeed, too often it is but once we pass this way. Pity. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted September 4, 2008 It's hard to explain the joy of seeing aging barns, rows of corn, and black dirt. It's akin to a family reunion where everyone you know and love is there, waiting to embrace you. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted September 4, 2008 Yes, but at the reunion, when viewed under the microscope, there are folks there who are less than charitable, who have bad habits, nasty secrets, and a multitude of problems. So, too, here there is a a roofless barn that once was a source of great pride, a failed business and an environment that has seen better days. Reminds me of the words of a wise oriental philosopher who said, "The fruit of wisdom is impregnate with the seed of sorrow." Link to comment
