soniam 6 Posted September 2, 2008 We probably came a little closer than we should have in our canoe - But in the end she didn't seem to mind us too much. Just after dawn on the Bowron lakes. Thank you for your time and thoughts. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted September 3, 2008 I'm thinking that the two of you could paddle faster than she can swim, as long as you don't tip it over... This is a nice nature shot, thanks for getting close! Link to comment
bob_belanger 1 Posted September 3, 2008 I've also encountered moose in my travels. This time of year they don't seem to mind too much. But in the spring you need to be a little more careful, they might not appreciate you getting too close. I actually got to within about 5 or 6 feet from a big female a couple of years ago (through an open sunroof) and she was just not at all interested. My shots were at night and not quite as nice as this. Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted September 3, 2008 Thanks you Shawn Bob and Lawrence. Well, I'm glad she didn't seem to mind us but I will be sure to be more cautious in the Spring. Thank you all for your feedback. I really appreciate it Link to comment

soniam 6 Posted September 3, 2008 Thank you Maurizio, Gallego and Jaap. It was quite the experience. You have to get up very early to see them at their best. She had a calf with her when she first came out. He was prancing and splashing - until he saw us and then he nervously moved into the bushes. Too Cute. Thanks again Link to comment
