dougityb 0 Posted September 2, 2008 Cropping suggestions? In all others from this series, I've cropped out the brighter plaster wall on the left. Should I do the same with this one? What about a vertical? Link to comment
mg 0 Posted September 2, 2008 Picture is nice as it is, but composition is going a little against the principe of simplicity, I think. The square works a little better for me too. I'm with Jeff. Because in the original composition you posted, the perspective is pulling the eye behind her - in a direction that's opposite to the way that leads to her eyes. Combining these 2 observations, here as well, I see an interesting opportunity. She could be posing just as she is here, but facing the wall that's now behind her, at two thirds from the left edge of the pix. That way, you'd have columns as background - in fact more columns visible at right -, and all this framed in a square format. How is that ? Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted September 3, 2008 Sorry guys, I lost track of whose turn it was to comment. I like Jeff's square, although I have to admit, I'd like this cropped any way whatsoever so long as her face was still in the frame. Link to comment
GerrySiegel 868 Posted September 23, 2008 Maybe somewhere between the horizontal rectangle and the square. I like the environment of this one enough to not diminish it too much. I guess I would try chopping off more of the left wall and for me that would be perfecto....aint it fun that everyone on photonet agrees on how to frame and crop. Joost kidding. A nice shot, very comfortable and flattering to her....gs Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 21, 2009 Marc is right, I guess, but the face is so striking that I had not even noticed the fairly complex background. The natural lighting is very nearly perfect here. --Lannie Link to comment

chad_goldman 0 Posted August 20, 2010 I don't really have anything new to add here. Her Eyes grabbed my attention and pulled me into the photo. I like the white columns that appear on the right. light is nice and soft. And I do like the square crop here.So in short, I agree with everyone.:) CG Link to comment
