RickDB 10 Posted September 3, 2008 Thanks Salvador for presenting to us one of Mexico's most famous churches. As I understand it the "Iglesia de San Cayetano" was built in 1778 by the Count of Valenciana (the owner of a nearby silver mine that produced more than 20% of the World's supply of silver for more than 200 years - I wonder how much wound up in photographic emulsions!). This amazing church, located in Mexico's Colonial heartand, has a simple pink cantera stone exterior, but inside has to be one of the finest examples of Mexican Churrigueresque decoration. Thanks for showing us this with your great pics - I hope I can see some of this style for myself. Best regards, RickDB Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted September 3, 2008 ... and thank you for the dedication. This is an amazing structure with the dome on pendentives and the ornate vaulting. Great job with the color and exposure as well. Congratulations. Link to comment
