It's dinnertime inside colored with the reddishness of warmth and

conviviality but outside it's the opposite, at this restaurant over the

ocean at the wharf in Santa Cruz, California. Your ratings and critiques

are invited and most welcome. If you rate harshly or very critically,

please submit a helpful and constructive comment; please share your

superior photographic knowledge to help improve my photography.

Thanks! Enjoy! John

I have often eaten at this restaurant, but I never noticed the colored lights before.

When I saw this tonight I was determined to take a 'great' photo of it.

The only problem was there were lots of people walking past and congregating at the entrance (waiting for tables, no doubt).

But I persisted, they got their tables, I leaned against an outbuilding and continued to frame.

I took a number of photos, and particularly tried to include the windows, especially the 'porthole' window'.

I had tried to catch people in interesting situations with regard to the architecture and color, but didn't know exactly I had caught this guy in such a wonderful spot until I reviewed my captures as I sat down to dinner (in another restaurant by the same name - different branch of the family).

I regard this as a color dependant photo, as it is posted, but interestingly the black and white photo also is very well composed as shown by good lines; it would stand alone without the lighting.

It's just that the color photo is quite a bit better. If the color has not been so good, I would have posted the black and white photo; that's how I felt about this capture. Low ratings initially don't stop me when I really like something, as this.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I regard this as a better (and different) work of mine. Just one more 'different' photo from John to add to the growing collection.

Very strong.

I'm very proud of it.

Your rating is cockeyed and outside the norm for this site;it does not follow the rules.
