dougityb 0 Posted September 1, 2008 Now that she's looking at you, are the whites of her eyesobjectionable? Do the columns in the background seem out of context(a cropping issue, as I could have included more floor space, but atthe expense of a larger shoulder)? Are the columns too bright? Howabout the placement of her hands? (that's a joke, harking back to asimilar shot--her hands are clutched together over her heart--out ofview). Any other comments? Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted September 1, 2008 1. Less so 2. No I like them, they are part of the story 3. No The hands are fine. Those columns are a great prop. In this shot they occupy close to 40% of the area and still look great. Link to comment
constantinchirila 0 Posted September 1, 2008 The eyes are obvious altered through the postprocessing method. Other than that, its a good photo. Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted September 1, 2008 I'm not crazy about this pose...it looks like she is straining her neck/eyes. The lighting is nice and the background is fine. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted September 1, 2008 mmm, interesting. I thought it was a pretty good pose, myself. the above shows before and after processing on Nora's right eye. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted September 2, 2008 You asked: "Now that she's looking at you, are the whites of her eyes objectionable?" No, they aren't. I'm quite sure of that. "Do the columns in the background seem out of context (a cropping issue, as I could have included more floor space, but at the expense of a larger shoulder)?" That's ok too. But I see another great opportunity here, which may have given you the opportunity of a stronger background. What if she would be posing exactly the same way but in front of the background that's on the right of this picture - i.e. in front of the columns, framed as a square format with no wall at left included...? "Are the columns too bright?" No. Just nice on my monitor. Cheers. Link to comment

dougityb 0 Posted September 3, 2008 Marc, as you already know, I have that pose already from the first day, with the columns on the other side of the colonnade. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted September 4, 2008 Oooops... Yes. You're right: you did upload one of these... I had just forgotten all about it when I wrote this above... I have a very poor memory, sometimes, or rather: I didn't forget the other shot entirely, but didn't recall it when I wrote this comment. Silly me ! Sorry. :-) And meanwhile I have also seen many alternatives on your site... Link to comment
