cromwell1664877587 0 Posted August 31, 2008 The male just sits there and takes the ass chewing. I shot this in the first true vast wilderness I've ever been - Katmai. Link to comment

cromwell1664877587 0 Posted August 31, 2008 Thanks Joseph. Yep. I was there this last Wednesday. I had the time of my life and got many great shots. You'll probably be seeing about 10 more. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted September 1, 2008 Great shot - I was in Alaska sept 2006 but never got to this place. I have a folder of mostly landscape images of Alaska if you care to take a quick visit. Link to comment
matman1975 0 Posted September 1, 2008 Great action shot with nice colors and correct DOF. I like the fact that you "included" the beautiful background mountain giving a sense of place. Well done, beautiful image, Teo Link to comment

deleteaccount 0 Posted September 3, 2008 What a cracker, how far away were you when you shot these? Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted September 3, 2008 Thanks everyone. I would say about 40 yards, John, but not really sure. The closest shot I got was about 10 feet, in a different spot an hour or two after this was taken. Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 12, 2010 Truly one of the most impressive bear shots I've seen. It's tack sharp and close enough to really impart the power of these amazing animals. We're planning a trip to Alaska sometime in the next couple of years. I'll have to pick your brain as to how you were able to get so close to these bears. It's my dream to see them up close. cromwell1664877587 0 Posted January 13, 2010 Thanks, Christal. Plain and simple. Hire a guide. Feel free to pick my brain anytime. Link to comment
janinesl 1 Posted May 17, 2011 I don't know if I'd want to be that close but you never know for the right photo! What a great experience to be that close to such a powerful animal. Great photo, Scott! Link to comment
