Dawn Meditation I

lonebearimages

This was taken just after dawn in one of the shallow pools along the Silver Fork of the American River. Manual Priority, f14, 1.6 seconds, EV -1.0, ISO 100. A circular polarizing filter was used; a tripod was used, and the shutter tripped remotely. Camera raw image worked up in Adobe Bridge (PS CS3). In PS: cropped; adjusted Curves; a touch of saturation was applied; Unsharp mask; black framing; and saved for web view.

To my eye, this just couldn't have worked out any nicer. The low angled light streaming through the adjacent pines and redwoods and spotlighting the small boulder and aquatic vegetation was special to watch. This exposure was taken along the Silver Fork of the American River in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. Cheers! Chris

Very good image...a thought to consider??? What if you included the rock on the right side a little more? I feel the peace and the morning breeze with this one. Fine to leave it alone- your choice but since you posted it for a response. Very nice! Chris

Love the light on this one - everything is so well balanced. The light peeking through and warming up just a few portions of the image is icing on the cake and critical for my enjoyment.

This is the best of the three for me Chris. As Tony said, the warm light sprinkled around portions of this intimate scene is what separates it from the other two. Gorgeous work!

This is my favorite of the three and as the others have said, it's that warm glow of light. Just an excellent composition and your processing is right on. A real beauty Bear!

This is just perfect! That little silver rock with the light brings it all together. Kudos on a great photograph!...Lefty
