dougityb 0 Posted August 30, 2008 Any comments on this? The background looks ok to me, both eyes are sharp, her neck is not all creased up, and the logo is not too distracting. Anything else? Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted August 30, 2008 Is this from the same shoot, or another one? Her expression seems much more at ease than in the others. Link to comment
mlackey 0 Posted August 31, 2008 A great portrait not one fault I can see truly a great shot. Link to comment
mcquade.kevin 0 Posted August 31, 2008 This is, without question, one of the most amazing portraits I've seen. The wave in her hair, the green in her eyes contrasting with the background...it looks great! Not to mention that she's absolutely gorgeous... Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted August 31, 2008 Aaron, it's the same shoot, towards the end. We must have been hitting our groove. (And I owe you an email, too) On this day, for about an hour, we shot under the colonnade, on the walkway beside the colonnade, on a wall overlooking the colonnade, on steps next to the colonnade, and on a grassy/weedy hill behind the colonnade. So, we moved around a lot, but all in the same place. The light here was coming from just about right over my head, just a little to the right, but my daughter was holding a large, round scrim that filtered the direct sun into this soft effect. Behind her was a steep bank, covered with weeds and brush. The edge of the scrim's effect fell just above the crop line, at the top. If the background had been flat, or if my daughter had been any shorter, it would have been brightly lit. It's vignetted a bit, too. I'm glad everyone likes it. Thanks for all the comments. mg 0 Posted August 31, 2008 Best color portrait you ever uploaded to photo.net, I think. Which is why I rated it, for once: this one really deserves to be seen. :-) Simple, but wow ! Just wow ! (And her phone number, please...:-) Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted August 31, 2008 For her first shoot, Nora was amazing. I can't even begin to imagine the kind of pictures she'll be producing when she finds a photographer more experienced in this genre than myself. I'm thrilled with the results from our two sessions, and hope to shoot with her again. Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted September 1, 2008 Great portrait...wonderful soft lighting, warm beautiful smile...and ahhh those eyes. I really like turned back, over the shoulder pose like this....and yes I agree the background is nice....great job. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted September 2, 2008 Amazing indeed - especially for a first session... And she's so much more natural than most pros can ever be - and that's precious too ! "hope to shoot with her again"... Yep. Can't blame you. I'm offering her a session too, if she ever makes it to the other side of the ocean that is ! :-) Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted September 2, 2008 I've been taking note of various comments on your recent uploads, Doug. I will be shooting a session with a friend tomorrow just for fun, and the pressure is on given what I've seen here and perhaps my friend's expectations. First time is always a challenge. She's camera-shy too which doesn't help. I will be trying for natural colors and candids. I'm sure there's nothing more disappointing to a girl than to see lousy pictures made by amateurs. Wish me luck. :-) Link to comment
wmhoodphoto 0 Posted September 4, 2008 Ditto with what everyone else has mentioned...except I won't ask for her number cuz I've got a girlfriend ;o) This is only the 2nd portrait that I've added to my Favs folder. Excellent shot. Link to comment
