Simply beautiful, Matt. It's in that area I love, the line between representation and abstraction...and it works as either. Rich warm color tones and light, skillfully composed...a wonderful success and well worth the wait between pictures.

Simple subject turned into a 'Simply Awesome' subject!

Well, thanks, all. A confession: I was sitting at the dining room table, with the news on in the background. The insufferable non-stop coverage of the quadrennial political conventions was airing, and I kept hearing the word "heartland" over and over again (second only to the phrase "agent of change"). I couldn't come up with a quick image for "agent of change," but we had some dried wheat in an arrangement in the room... so, off I went. It's funny what will kick off a quick creative effort.

you should listen more often to politicians since it's good for something it seems. It's a beaut Matt.

Very attractive colors and the texture/detail of the wheat pod is nicely captured. Beautiful composition. IMHO could be a super masterpiece if DOF was greater with more sharpness all around.
