Spanish Rock at Sunrise, Bermuda

Sunrise over Spanish Rock, on the Spittal Pond coastline.

There is now a plaque over the original inscription on the cliff which was

carved by a shipwrecked mariner who marked the date as 1543.

Originally thought to be a Spaniard, it is now believed he was a

Portuguese sailor.
