If not for the log at the bottom I would barely be able to tell where tree starts and water ends. I like this because it's so complex and dark and a bit scary. Kudos to the photographers that have the fortitude to go out and get these kinds of shots!

This one is just pure pleasure to view. The darkness and the soft light which actually looks a bit like moonlight. Very moody shot. May i ask was this heavily processed?

Ian, thank you for commenting. Since this was taken in winter, the odors and bugs weren't there yet.

 

Tero, all I did was darken it and lower the exposure in Bridge because some of the tree trunks were blinding white and blew out too many details. As it is, they still do, but it "seemed" the right thing to do (?). This is one of those images which looked so cool with the naked eye, and my old camera just couldn't pick up the tonal variations well - or maybe it was the photographer!

Very nice capture. I would have preferred to have an inch or so more on top --- to bring out the height of the trees compared to the lying log. But the colors and texture that you demonstrate here are beautiful. compliments -koushik

Absolutely agree with Mary. You have captured such a subtle beauty which being not loud always seems difficult for presentation. I would like to go and sit in that calm and lonely place for a while. My best regards. 7/7.

Thank you all for commenting so nicely on this. I have to admit, I think it lacks enough light. But, if I increase the light, it becomes more confusing to me. You all have encouraged me. This is a main reason PN is a success for me.
