Comments, ratings, suggestions appreciated on this landscape

shot--suggestions especially appreciated on printing b&w. I've been

learning a lot from the critiques (not sure if it always shows).

Thanks.

Nice subject, but the light is a it too harsh. A few clouds would help both to soften it and to add something interesting into the upper right part of the photo.

I appreciate good B&W, but for some reason I think this scene would work much better in color.

I can see where the comment to crop from the left comes from but I think it is fine as is.

The dark areas of the sky- are those from your developing or from dodging?

I'm wondering why you didnt include the entire reflection as cliche as that might be I do wonder why you didnt.

Last thought- when you climbed back up did you think your thighs would ever stop burning?

Knicki, thanks for stopping by. This is a pretty old photo--I took it when I was just learning to shoot/develop/print black and white. The funky sky is the result of a crappy scanner muddling up a b&w print. The cropped shadow is the result of an inexperienced photographer not getting the shot framed right!

As for thighs, they were ok. I'm in fairly good hiking shape, but that's not to say I didn't break a sweat.
