anish 0 Posted August 25, 2008 beautiful image. if anything, a slight shift of the camera to the right might give a more balance composition, in my opinion. Anish Link to comment
copeg 0 Posted August 25, 2008 Very, very nicely done. The single flower is the touch that just makes this image just sing. When I concentrate on the rocks I get a similar impression that Anish mentioned as far as the shift to the right, however at the same time a shift to the right and the flower get more centered...a tricky comp in that respect, but I really like your final choice. stp 6 Posted August 26, 2008 Great location. I'm itching to move to the right and zoom in to get the single white rock, the relatively small tip of the rock to its right, and the flower in between. Link to comment

llgarcia 1 Posted August 26, 2008 Thanks for all your inputs. Anish - I strongly considered that however, I wanted a portrait presentation to include the farther stone. I agree though it could have been more balanced on second thought. Greg - Thanks.I also wanted the Lily off-centered. Stephen - Thank you for your observation. Would you have preferred a horizontal format in this case as you proposed with the flower in between the big and small rock? Mary and Jean-Marc - Thanks for your comments My only regrets is that I didn't take enough shots experimenting on different formats. Lester Link to comment

stp 6 Posted June 9, 2010 Lester, sorry for the very late reply, but I didn't see your response/question until just now. When I had your image on my screen, I simply scrolled it up until the top rock could no longer be seen. I was then left with a horizontal image of the large, white rock, the single flower, and the few items around them. Personally, I liked that rendition better: it was cleaner, more simple, and more unified without the brown rock and the reflection of the clouds. Of course, that's just my personal opinion. DGorinstein 20 Posted August 23, 2012 A postcard of the highest quality. Water Lilies are always an attraction for photographers. I have stopped photographing them just because I have too many. However, this image is just perfect, artful, aesthetic and most elegant. It has the Japanese sense of simple beauty. The transparency of the water in the foreground vis a vis the reflection of the clouds at the top is just exquisite. In my favorites, and a full 7/7. Thanks for sharing, and congratulations.DG Link to comment
