hanna_cowpe 0 Posted August 24, 2008 Brad, this is an interesting concept. I think you've caught the right amount of blur in the man's form to make him obvious yet in the background, putting them together yet not together. There is nice detail in the woman's jewellery, and her profile is well hilighted. It opens up the imagination to create a story here of what he is saying and why she looks so unhappy; or is it just pensive. I'm undecided as to whether I would prefer his hat not to be 'touching' her head, but it does add another dimension to the story. I would like to see just a little more detail in the darkest area of her ear and hair, but just a touch. You are taking your street photography to new levels and I enjoy it. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted August 25, 2008 Great work on this one, the DOF and the back-lighting are superb. I might have cropped it a bit different, but that is only my personal preference coming into play. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 25, 2008 I think this is a strong portrait, Brad. I like the DOF and the overall darkness. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted August 25, 2008 Above I did not state why I think this is excellent. It is hef off centerd and looking into the photo,. The sharpness of the provfilea and eyebrows. The expresson which I interrpret in a couple of possible ways the contrast of the necklace and ear ring and the blouse on the sholder, the pin on the hat.. The highlights, Remind me of the great gordan parks. These and maybe others are why I see this as excellent. I would like to see texture in the hair Link to comment

Upon reading Hanna's comment on the original posting of this photo, I had reworked it in PS following her advice, and re-posted the improved version replacing the original.
