hmmm....I love to title photos! hmmmm how about, "Alice does not live here any more" or we could take a different approach, " welcome to our home". I'll keep thinking. An intriguing photo indeed!

I like your idea and composition, but the rectangular hot spot in the background just isn't contributing. In fact, it really is quite distracting.

Her squatting pose almost delineates a diagonal element, but not quite. I cropped it so it would suggest one. I dodged her face and back to give it some definition.

Using the Lasso Marquee Selection tool feathered at 60 pixels, I selected around her and then selected the inverse. I used the Brightness/Contrast control to darken outside of the selection.

I dodged the scleras (the whites of the eye) and the catch lights of the eye for extra "pop".

I also added an edge treatment.

If you don't find my suggestions helpful, then please send me an email and I will be happy to delete them for you. But if you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me, either.

Hmmm, interesting titles! Especially the third one...

Well, the bright spot in the background, I don't like it too. I have think about to retouch it, but my competence in Photoshop is not good enough. And than I thought: it is film, it is "real", it is as it is.

But thank you for your ideas!

I vote for leaving it untitled.

What information will a title add that is not already contained in the photo itself? Will you call it "topless beautiful model in decrepit building" or something equally obvious? Or will you attempt to interpret the "mood" of the photo by calling it something like "lonely" or "innocent" (a strange title for a seminude woman holding what appears to be her pet possum)? My favorite superfluous titles are those which the photographer has seen fit to call "nude woman", as if staring at a fabulous pair of breasts hadn't already given that secret away.

My point is that the photo should convey your intention to the viewer without the pretentious, facile, or just plain silly baggage of a title attached.

But if you must, how about "[name of abandoned building], [city], [month], [year]" ?

Michael, I am glad very much about your comment. This is exactly that what I also think. Actually, a picture needs no title if it is able to express something.

Why do I search a title? Because some web pages admit no double titles of pictures what annoys me.

I had started once using always the given name and a running number for the shooting and the picture, I believe, I go over again in addition...
