GerrySiegel 868 Posted August 23, 2008 The last comment does not seem to say much but is cute as we say. Steffen, you select your models well. They all have interesting faces and lithe bodies. I think the lighting here is consistent with the harsh background you chose. Since the background is a part of the theme, perhaps it could have been given focus as well as the model. It has a texture that matches the texture of the torso and the face. I can block out the bra she is holding and see that it makes the photo even more interesting. That said, you have a good eye and taste in your nudes. Best wishes. gs Link to comment
drache 0 Posted August 25, 2008 Many thanks for your remarks! Gerry, this flatters her and me very much, pleases me! To illustrate the background also sharply, I hold for less good, because she would properly disappear then in it. The spatial relation would be away. And it was not enough a light to realise it... ;-) Link to comment
www.mdstewartphoto.net 0 Posted November 11, 2008 Very nice photograph; beautifully done. Her expression and her stance definitely projects an aire of confidence. A very lovely model. Link to comment
Elstad 6 Posted January 7, 2009 A very nice location shot of which you have many in your portfolio... Admirable! -r- Link to comment
GerrySiegel 868 Posted January 8, 2009 Steffen, on further argument if I may be allowed, you go for stark realism. Go fully with the background as integral part of the composition. Why not show the scarred flaking paint clearly as a symbol of how beauty is truly a passing phase?. Summer's lease has all too short a date..as the bard wrote about his lover. I am throwing out a challenge i guess... I know it gets philosophical, but you could make it work I know. It is a question of why choose this gutted setting and not a garden or a hedge in the back....I am unclearperhaps, gut reaction but persistent. Maybe my comment will provoke some thought from an everyday amateur at the thing we both love. Bold form in bold settings. I want to be clear that I like and admire this shot...else would not spend time thinking about it... I wish you the best of good tidings, gs Link to comment
drache 0 Posted January 8, 2009 Thank you very much for your thoughts, Gerry! This is quite interesting. Well, the simple reason, why the background is not sharp or clearly, is the light there and the camera (midrange...). And I like it, I think, it is clear enough to show the opposite or difference of beauty and momentariness... Sorry, my English is not so good that I could explain my feelings as I would!
