One of the best examples of compositional skill I have seen Truly remarkable for what you have included and how it is framed.

David, thank you so very much. This is one of a short series of quick shots taken last week-end on a promenade. Over the last month I've been into doing what I've always liked but did less recently, that is spontaneous shots of people, concentrate on framing while shooting, no cropping and only basic adjustments during post-processing. I'm really glad you like it.

I like how the composition with people follow the diagonal of the cliff's top....the light and tone gives a lot of details....a close image where you capture life in a direct and straight way...the boy top right is the holder of the composition, I think reading begins with his face and he directs the viewer to follow the diagonal and explore the image further, the guy's leg diagonal act as a counter point and adds dynamism....no need to tell you I like very much...

Thank you very much. Excuse my enthusiasm and hope I don't sound too satisfied with myself, but I was quite happy with this entire series, of which you can see 2 pics. It's great to click a dozen quick shots and come out with something you like as a whole. As you often say, no matter everyone else's opinions, no matter how good or bad the pics, the most important thing is to do what we like doing and keep on doing it.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I've just discovered your portfolio after reading your comment here, and read on your biography page that you would only write comments to help you and others to understand. So may I ask you what you meant by saying you cannot?

Very original and idiosyncratic composition. Wonderful angularity without losing sight of your subjects in the least. Excellent in every respect. That person rapidly disappearing in your rear view mirror is me.

Laurent, simply wonderful! the man as a center and all the children behind....The child on the R ,ballances the whole, as well as the vegetation on the R. I like the two heads of the children and the partly hidden one, so there is also a small mystery componenet...( what are they doing....) very nice timing and interesting composition. who cares how it will be called ( spontaneous or other......just well done ! )

Framed wonderfully. Everyone is compressed into a rectangle of weeds and challenges. I like how everyone is getting along.

Thank you, I'm glad you like this one and your insightful comments are always very much appreciated. That unforgettable discussion we've had at Jeff's place lately will certainly remain in our minds for a while. Now everyone here and there (that includes myself) is alluding to it. I wouldn't be surprised if this were the longest discussion about a photograph in Pnet history. Worth being mentioned in the Guiness Book of Records!
