lizweisiger 0 Posted August 18, 2008 Great capture. Nice BW. I'd like to see it straightened a bit. Link to comment
jpo3136b 0 Posted August 18, 2008 Good job. I liked the way the shadow line crosses the person at a diagonal; also that the willow in the foreground (left) has a variety of tones in it from the line created by a shadow terminator or illumination. Some interesting shapes in the shadows on the subject's left arm and leg (on our right of the image) contribute well. If the person had been shown all in a typical set of narrow grays, I would not have liked it as well. Good tonal range in the subject, from the darkest darks to the lightest lights. I also liked the variety of the tones of the trees in the background. Good job. Good luck. J. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted August 18, 2008 Thank you all of you for coming by. I appreciate very much your evaluation and comments. To Liz:...............Indeed, you might have a point. For me the horizon at the moment of the shot was secondary because I wanted to have the young man 'inflight' quasi straight and sharp. I attach a straightened version hereunder for comparison. Thanks again for your input. Link to comment
jtipton 0 Posted August 18, 2008 The perfect capture of the boy of summer. Ah, to be that age again, fearless and invincible. Stunning picture. Wonderful composition and suberb contrast. Compliments and Greetings-Jim Link to comment
whosecameraisforpix 0 Posted August 18, 2008 Beautiful image El. Having seen both versions, I personally prefer the image with the titled horizon, as it accentuates the 'in the moment' feel of the shot. Great work, and best wishes Link to comment

giuseppe_pasquali 0 Posted August 18, 2008 although I prefer the straightened version and - to be honest - I find the right part of the face a bit too dark, thank you, Giuseppe [ma cosa gli hai fatto fare, uno zompo all'indietro? :-)))] Link to comment

lizweisiger 0 Posted August 18, 2008 I like the other version too. I don't understand about this "horizon thing". When I take pictures on the beach, the same thing happens with the tilt. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Regards, liz Link to comment

jefvandenhoute 0 Posted August 19, 2008 Perfect actie shot. In zulke gevallen zijn voor mijn andere issues, zoals een rechte horizon, minder belangrijk. Het is de weergave van het moment dat de foto maakt Link to comment
