The walls in Bisbee are so unique! I found this one fascinating, but I'm not sure if I was able to capture the essence of what I saw on "film". I also tried playing with the saturation of some of the colors to get some neat-o effect on this shot, but to no avail, I'm just not creative enough. :-) What are your thoughts?

So, was this the home of the famous "Hole in the Wall" gang? :-)

Seriously, you have some tough light to work with there, but there's something about stone walls that make us want to capture a feeling. Don't give up on it... Mike

Are you kidding, Emilia!? Please know that EVERY time I shoot a brick wall like this, I think of you!! No joke! I'm SO glad that you like the shots. You inspired me to start looking for the zoom shot as well as the wide angle. :-)

Lou Ann... A return visit, this time looking on my home (calibrated) monitor and these rocks really have some interesting shapes, textures and character. Maybe it's the color that is a little distracting (not in a terrible way, just pulling the eye to all the different colors)... did you try a b/w, just for fun?... Mike

Thanks, Mike - no I hadn't tried B&W because I was so focused on the colors. It certainly does remove distraction. Do you think, though, that the colors are all so similar in tone that the B&W doesn't have enough darks and brights to contrast?

That could very well be true and it's a shame to lose all those nice topaz, ochre, and earthtones. This image could go both ways if you juice up the contrast in b/w or maybe give the color some soft shading.... hmmm, I'm wandering here, but a nice image to work anyway.... Mike

Michael - thanks. I think you're where I have been with this image. I was all over the map with what I wanted to do with it. More contrast, less contrast, more saturation, less...... (sigh....) Such fun!
