Very interesting. Has a very contemporary feel. You've created a sort of collage, utilizing the given elements found here and capturing the videographer at work. Even though his face gets lost in an unexplainable blur and a bit of shadow, he has a James Dean kind of look. That may be a result, in part, of the fact that there's an overall edginess to this photo, in the partial lack of clarity, the strange shadows and reflections playing with our consciousness, the gritty darkness out of which a not very lively plant grows and out of which a face on the wall appears. I like the white ceramic (plastic?) hand gesturing upward next to the statuelike face. It's an image to wander around in and to wonder about.

This is the developed era of the camera for the masses of human being. All of us are stamping our memories on the camera cards, experiences and exprssions, family meetings , Interpretations of our life. Art and being...

Thanks for your impressions.

We wrote simulteneously while I wrote my preface...Thanks for your interesting interpretation I like the analogy to J. Dean one of the well stamped icom in the general memory His (a bit ) blurred face is compatible for my giving it a general relevance.....There is so much to say on our era so I have entered all kinds of elements in order to express it.( like the corner with the plastic hand....and more).

I have finished reading the thread at Ton's ,about critique.enjoyed it very much.

It is late, I saw you have uploaded Ian 3, I will reffer to it tomorrow.

Jim, thanks for your visit.

I didn't see James Dean or anything 1950ish. I see a glam rock-star, a lot of posing and calculated sexuality. I imagine this as a picture of the inside of a young man's head when all the world is a stage and when every encounter is a conquest. And then I imagine the results of that time of life. A woman scorned. A pile of body parts of individuals emotionally dissected, used, and discarded. And in the corner, a growing sense of insight.

Andrew, Jeff and Maurizio.

Jeff, this is a very interesting point of view, so defferent in its reading from Fred's....;-)) Well that is what I said before ,after uploading, a photo has a life of its own..

Life, art, and different being of viewers reading.....

Terrific image! I like both of the perspectives presented by Fred and Jeff. There is so much going on here and it well reflects the chaos of my mind. You have a great concept in mind with the everyman as artist, or at least recorder of all within eyesight and some that is not. It seems terribly appropriate. I'm particularly fond of the face upper right. It adds significantly to the voyeuristic feel. Great work. In fact, one of your best.

Great composition. The details telling a lot. We do not know what he is doing: A undercover agent is documenting ... or ? Its open. Congs. BR Joerg

Thanks all of you,

Dave ,it is one of the most interesting evaluations this work has recieved....Wonderful, I like to read the differences of perspective each of you brought to his impressions.

Jorg, "undercover agent"....really a full range of interpretation...;-))

Interesting capture you got here Pnina. It has sexual undertones and feels voyeuristic. The mannequin with the arm in front partially covering her face seems to make an effort to avoid being videotaped by the guy. In a way it represents the objectification of women in my opinion. There is a dynamic "triangular" perspective here with the picture on the right hand side looking at the guy, the guy pointing his camera and the mannequin facing in the direction of the guy again.

This image makes me uncomfortable.

His shirt, what is it? It looks as though there is a hole through his chest. Are those feathers around his neck? The nude in the photo looks as if she were in pain. Why is there an arrow with the word “end” pointing at her? The whole scene is surrealistic. The balance, the colors, the placement of the articles, the shadows are all brilliantly done. The lines behind the man include and exclude him. He could go into a rage momentarily.

This is a short story filled with innuendos and double enentes.

You have taken me out of my comfort level, Pnina. Thank you.

Thank you all for yoiur interpretation.

Amal, I try to explore human life all along my way, even my dance and theatre works are combining reality in its artistic form...

Adan,Interesting impression and reading. The ambiguity of the scene is the kay for many direction of interpretations.

Margaret, there is a kind of surealism together with life reality . Human life are so full with contradictions, strangness, memories, fading ones , lights and shadows ,starts and ends, pains and joys, hiding and revealing.... The ambiguity here takes it to many corners of the psyche of each of us, evoking all sorts of feelings and unanswered queries. Thanks for writing yours.Interesting evaluation.

I am fascinated by the very personal images people take on a regular basis to document their life...(some are definitely too "ego directed" which is also fascinating but for a different reason) but some are truly piece of art in the most subjective and personal form....we all have a personal relationship with our images and it's really interesting to see what feeling and ideas they may rise on others....

Pnina, your image made me think of this:

The Link! wow!, thanks,it is so very interesting. His project of " a polaroid a day" kept some of his life for his family ( I even understood all the French....;-)).

Thanks for your interesting evaluation, this work really has a different

variety of impressions...

... I like the feeling of the shot, Pnina, how it reflects the sensation of being the young, vital creator, where everything is nourishment and inspiration to the artist. It is when being an artist is as important as creating art. One of my favorites of your recent work, Pnina, an image that conveys layers of sensation and memory.

Dennis, I'm glad to see you here and read your very intelligent observation , I'm glad you liked it Thanks my friend.

Laurent, I saw the huge amount of polaroids( not each separatly. some of them), from the begining to the end in 1997. what a project! great link, thanks again.

Pnina, this is exceptionally interesting and good. I like the general composition of the scene: The background colours; the colour-contrast of the guy; the highlighting of the items to the right on a dark background; the guy shooting at something outside the frame that we don't see and the positioning of the many "participating" photos, items and writings on the wall. If this was a setup, totally composed by you, it could not be better, but I would believe that it is scene shot by you as it happened. I like it as such even more. A just-in-time shot where everything is at the right place. Especially the two faces to the right, create the dynamics of the scene. The guy, the artist, seen by you, is the centre of the "story".

I see it therefor as a metaphor of the creative process of the photographer (you !) surrounded by themes, scenes, subjects and objects and yet also part of it all. The real subject, the artist (you !) we don't see. This is what makes photography such an interactive process preventing us from just being observers of reality. A long story about "philosophy" of the artistic process could be written about this, but I will stop here...

In my eyes, one of your best.

I'm glad to " see" you here after a long absence! I really missed you on this side ;-))

Thank you so much for a very interesting read of your impression.

Part of it is a scene from a dance, and part of it, elements, shadows ,added by me( especially the R side, but not only..) to enhance my vision of it.

As I wrote before ( and this is the UPPER link), when a dance is touching me , "life as a dance" connect life and stage to one, as theatre and some of the dance resources are taken from human life, and episodes.

In the begining I wanted to call it "Two photographers"....He, and me behind the scene...but I have another photo in my Spanish folder that is called : "four photographers"....so I changed my mind.

Your evaluation, Anders ,is a very nice compliment, that coming from you is very much appreciated, because I know your work and like it so much. Thanks again, I know you are busy , but still hope to see you and your work, more often ;-)).

Photo Art of its best. Many picutres in photo.net I would rather see in "art.net". But this one fits here as a very modern photography with some elements of the sixties, very emotional and different. Congratulations.
