alight 0 Posted August 14, 2008 dude, this is so cool. Some kinda wormhole for Menza folks? Or is this howthe alphabet soup looks before they can it? Nice tones to the image, too.Or, hey, when you decipher it, does it say "Dave Meyer Photography"?What is it? Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted August 14, 2008 A great angle, David, and a nice enigma. It makes the viewer wonder what this is. I also wonder what it looked like in full color. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 15, 2008 Well, you've got all of us wondering how you pulled this thing off. But I understand the magician does not reveal but simply moves on to the next illusion. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted August 15, 2008 Did you post this just for me? THANK YOU! I really love it. I'm hoping that you will be telling us more about the story behind these heavenly words. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 15, 2008 Thank you all for your thoughts and compliments. This is a sculpture on the grounds of the Des Moines public library. It is basically a dome shaped shell. I simply got underneath it and lay on my back looking to the sky. I include the original color version, although I fear that some may find it better than the one with which I have tinkered. bosshogg 4 Posted August 15, 2008 Yes, just for you. BTW, I missed you at Susan's show. The wife and I walked in, and you should have seen the look on her face. I tried to catch a picture of it, but failed.Suffice it to say she was shocked. Her show is awesome. She made me proud. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 15, 2008 There is no magic. Only sight and a camera that is smarter than me. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 15, 2008 I don't want you spending your last days drinking V8 and trying to figure it our. The enigma is code for, "The end is near." Alternatively, if you read from right to left and invert it, it says, "Have a great day!" Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 15, 2008 Looking at it, I like the B/W version, it is very original, enigmatic accentuate better the form of letters ( don't tell how you did it...you have already did....;-)Looks like a letters "flower", or a letter abstract..... very interesting. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 15, 2008 I like the B&W version. The heavenly message looks a lot like word salad to me. The swirl and swoop is fantastic. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 15, 2008 Thanks for your thoughts on this. I'm glad I didn't go fiddling with it and then find everyone likes it as it was shot. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 15, 2008 Thanks. for the encouragement. I'm sure Gabi could have done it better, but I work with what I've got. Link to comment

timkeller 0 Posted August 16, 2008 I love the B&W version, and I love the color version even more. Wonderful. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 16, 2008 Well, it appears that you are in the minority on the color issue. Of course it's an unfair comparison because the color one could have been juiced up a bit and that might have influenced some to be more favorable to the color version. When and if I print it, I may try a version of each. Thanks for your comment. You're doing some great work lately. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted August 16, 2008 Fantastic job. Has anyone cracked the code yet and deciphered the message? Maybe I am drinking some weird Kool Aid but the more I look at this, especially at the lit areas it looks to me like someone in an embracing position seen from above. Link to comment
