dougbrill 0 Posted August 14, 2008 Cave on the beach only accessible at low tide. Comments and ratings always welcome. Thanks Link to comment
GerrySiegel 868 Posted August 14, 2008 Mysterious cavern. Nice contrast with the flash on the rock and the sunset on the tidal pool. It makes a great frame. Somehow this photo works well, even though mixed lighting is sometimes hard to absorb. Link to comment
davidjhood 0 Posted August 14, 2008 I like the rocks through the window but not sure about the flash lighting on the closest rocks, would look nice if they were less exposed Link to comment
whosecameraisforpix 0 Posted August 14, 2008 While the flash is effective, not using flash may have led to a darkened silhouette in the foreground with the sunlit rocks and sea in the background and have been just as interesting. By chance have you also taken a pic w/o flash? Very nice image nevertheless. Best wishes Link to comment
daved1 1 Posted August 14, 2008 Good exposure and the framing of the rocks works well to add interest to the shot. Nicely done. Link to comment
harrylichtman 0 Posted August 15, 2008 Hi Doug - I think the mixed lighting is a little distracting. Great use of the framing of rocks withi the opening, but natural lighting or post balancing the light a bitmore might help. Very subjective, just MO. Regards, Harry Link to comment
dougbrill 0 Posted August 15, 2008 Thanks you all for your kind comments. Sometimes we just need to take a picture of what is before us and make the best of it. In short - settle. That is what I did here. The framing of the rocks caught my eye but I did want to to show that I was inside the cave. So I popped up the on camera flash and shot. In the original images the flash is way to bright and changed the color of the rock in relation to the rocks outside in the sun. I did mute the light down somewhat in PS and did my best to make it look more natural. R Sekhar - I will have to go back to see if I have a shot without flash. I took these about a year ago. Thanks again and I will try to edit a little more and repost if I can get better results. Thank you all again for your constructive comments. You are all the reason I love PN! Link to comment

rekaras 0 Posted August 19, 2008 A truly lovely image. What really makes it for me is that very subtle light on the top left of the rock formation it affords a certain balancing nuance to an overpowering visual image that you so aptly managed to create, congrats rek. Link to comment
dave holmes 0 Posted September 2, 2008 Very nice inventive idea, and it worked out esthetically as well congrats. Link to comment

beaz 0 Posted November 6, 2008 Browsing through your folio, this one jumped out at me. I like the sense of depth from the framing rocks. The exposure nicely captured the warm and cool colors of the ocean surf. Cheers, Jerry Link to comment
